Cost Estimating

From conceptual design, schematic, or advanced development phases, Hill’s Preconstruction group engages with the client’s project team to address a variety of planning activities. Our experienced Preconstruction team handles constructability reviews, value engineering analysis, budgets, schedule development, establishing project controls, and even performing enabling activities.

Cost Estimating is one of the key aspects of the preconstruction group’s focus. Establishing the cost basis for any particular project is the goal, but we have the experience and flexibility depending on the client’s needs, type of project, status of design development, timeline or scope of work. Hill’s estimating, design and fabrication software platform shares a common database that allows for system analysis from a number of perspectives. Project oversight begins during the estimating phase, with consideration given to a number of critical aspects such as personnel, schedule, project quality, safety integration, value engineering and project controls. And project analysis led by the Preconstruction group completes the project cycle to validate details associated with the project outcome.

The Virtual Construction Department’s technological capabilities and modeling/estimating services are developed and performed in house by trained and dedicated Hill professionals. Our integrated approach allows us to identify coordination/construction issues early in the process, therefore eliminating constructability challenges that arise during installation. Hill maintains a unique suite of Virtual/3D/BIM technologies that provide the highest value during all design and construction phases.
