Asbestos is a naturally occurring microscopic fiber that can stay in the air for hours or even days. Once you inhale the fibers, they may damage your lungs and may cause forms of cancer. There is no EPA/ OSHA "safe" level of asbestos exposure, so it is important to avoid being exposed.
